 Before the cross-posting police batter down my door, perhaps I should 
 apologise to all the denizens of uk.music.alternative who might find 
 all this hard to follow, given that it refers to stuff that was never

 However, I just looked at uma and discovered it's virtually dead. This 
 thread seems to be the liveliest thing that's happened there for ages.
