Now see that's the key. It's deciding what is and what isn't offensive.
Personally I don't find what some might term "abusive comments", in this
medium, offensive and I would hate the thought of someone being kicked just
because they had made some.

Even those twits have a right. If I were a racist and wanted to be heard I
would, of course, choose a more appropriate forum but I am not and they
generally don't; if we cannot demand an open mind from them, it's unlikely
we can demand a sensible approach to their "cause".

That, in my humble opinion, should be the beginning and the end of a
moderators job.
