 Same thing happened when I went to see Bill Bryson in Edinburgh last year. 
 Dotted around the auditorium, all the way through his act, were the bright 
 lights of mobile phone screens.  I find it absolutely inexplicable that 
 someone should find texting more important than the gig you've paid to see. 
 I even find people using mobile phones down the pub a bit rude, as if your 
 conversation is never as important as a phone call that's going to come in. 
  
 Anyway, glad to see you picked a gig with the right ratio of girls to 
 middleaged men :)

 Using words well is a social virtue.  Use 'fortuitous' once more to 
 mean 'fortunate' and you move an English word another step towards 
 the dustbin.  If your mistake took hold, no one who valued clarity 
 would be able to use the word again.
