Well those are all either on-going soaps or one-off specials - it is unheard
of to launch a series on Christmas Day.
However I do think if it is shown on Christmas Day it will get a large
audience. However this would have its downsides as well. When the second
episode is shown a week later the viewing figures will see a large dip
(ITV are usually stronger on New Year's Day than Christmas Day) and then
another dip for the third episode before levelling out. This would make
it quite easy for the execs to say that it was a failed experiment as it
failed to hold onto its audience.
