 The concepts of "being entertaining now" and "being entertaining in 50 years 
 time" aren't mutually exclusive.  We'll almost certainly be watching 50 year 
 old repeats of the Simpsons, it's just that the references to this period 
 are throwaway lines rather than a big slice of the story.  (In fact, in the 
 Simpsons there are a bundle of references to American celebrities and 
 politicians that mean nothing to me, but that doesn't detract from its 
 'watchability'.) 
  
 RTD can do funny off-the-cuff remarks ("I moisturise"), but not coherent 
 plots or sci-fi.  It's a shame: the Americans threw down the gauntlet with 
 Firefly and Battlestar Galactica, and this series of Who is the best we can
