I disagree, music is much more timeless than any other art form. I doubt
99 percent of the population could tell you what century any piece of
classical music was from.
I don't really have any objection to modern media being used in context
to the era as long as it's in context and throwaway. Characters talking
about 'pop culture' though does nothing to advance the story and just
provides a cheap laugh that will make that part of the story redundant
in years to come.
What will we make of the robots in the last couple of episodes? The
scene where Jack was being dressed up by Trinny and Suzanna is
completely redundant to the plot (except him getting the gun at the end)
and is going to just look weird when viewed by somebody in the future,
or in another country for that matter.
But maybe that's not such a bad thing.
