 After watching it again last night I am not sure what to make of it. 
 It certainly appeared that the Daleks pretty much destroyed all of the 
 continents.  Lynda is announcing and names off all of the continents as 
 the Daleks attack them.  You can actually see the shape of Australia 
 changing as you watch.  I am not certain how you would survive that.  On 
 the other hand, if all the humans were killed the Doctor shouldn't have 
 had any trouble using the delta wave.  Perhaps I need to take a third look 
 at it.
