 Unless it is possible for the transfer to be recorded as a day earlier by 
 the 
 transferor than by the transferee (presumably on the last/first day of 
 successive months) I do not see how an overlapping month when both have paid 
 tax can be avoided. If the DVLA allows that, fine, otherwise I agree at 
 least 
 a notional period SORNed is needed. This must be common situation (people 
 could elect to buy cars at the end of a month).
