There are quite a lot of rented properties in Mildenhall and Ely which
by instruction of the landlords are only rented to US Servicemen.
Because they are very well behaved, and adequately prosperous, tenants.

The only downside is that because they are always liable to be re-posted
somewhere else at three week's notice, the tenancy agreements have to
 reflect that.

If they ever close the base, Mildenhall at least will become a bit of a
 ghost town.

Nearby Lakenheath is slightly different, because that still has some
 housing on-base.
