We certainly have less to be ashamed of than the Nazis. But "nothing" is a
bit
of an overstatement. It might be valuable to remember some of the hatred and
violent disorder whipped up by fascists in the '30s and well into the post
war
period[1] against Jewish individuals and Jewish premises. If for no other
reason than to better understand the hatred and violence now being promoted
by
our more modern fascists against Muslims and immigrants in general.
[1] post war austerity was a fertile breeding ground for fascists blaming
"Jews" and their businesses for profiteering and depriving the workers of
their right to decent living standards. Familiar, or what?
