As with boxing, athletics, and tennis, the point about debating is that
it's a
recognised activity having its own clubs and societies; and is subject to
specific rules.
Unlike "arguing" which may amount to little more than people shouting at one
another,
waving their arms about, or even throwing things.
Which is why there are no "Arguing Societies" or "Arguing.Clubs".
