Actually, you've jogged my memory. On the northern side of Lime Street
Station's concourse, there used to be various vending machines you never
saw elsewhere, but in among them was a glass display case mounted on
some sort of plinth so that it was about a yard off the ground. Inside
the case was an open book, apparently a publication of the Church of
Scientology. Perhaps the page was turned daily, not that I noticed.
Or hang on... was it the Church of Christian Science? At this temporal
distance, it could have been either.
