Don't forget that US Evangelists believe that Jews have to occupy
historical Judea in order the facilitate the Apocalypse, which
apparently is regarded as a Good Thing.

"One main strand of evangelical theology holds that the return of Jews
to the region starts the clock ticking on a seven-year armageddon, after
 which Jesus Christ will return."

It's unclear what will happen to the Jews after Armageddon. They won't
be needed any more, and won't fit very well in Christ's "kingdom that
 will never end".
