Are you disagreeing with that then? Or are you just joining nan in an
epidemic of harrumphing as if that disproves anything?

Indeed it has. But it has happened and it can't now be unhappened.

Maybe you'd share your wisdom with us as to how we could have prevented
it then? In any case, it seems to me that we have to deal with the
situation as it is now, not as it should have been, while of course
taking all diplomatic steps we can to prevent a recurrence.
