You may be under the mistaken impression that Boris wants a no-deal
Brexit, because that was the accusation from the opposition for many months.

He doesn't want a no-deal. He doesn't want to be Prime Minister of a
country sinking into recession, with factory closures and unemployment
soaring and tax revenues dwindling. Not that it would be his fault, of
course. But he knows he wouldn't be able to fix it, and the electorate
would then switch its allegiance to a party which claims to be able to
fix it. And, of course, the Tory Party would choose a new leader, one
who has real political acumen not just the ability to utter enthusiastic
platitudes to get the crowds to cheer.
