The Panorama investigation into Labour's antisemitism was a shoddy,
incompetent piece of journalism.
I've watched it twice, and it's even more unimpressive the second time.
A series of jewish people come forward to say that they feel unsafe in
the Labour Party. But they don't explain why. Where they quote the
occasional antisemitic remark, they don't put it in context and the
interviewer doesn't ask them to explain the circumstances, possibly for
fear of upsetting the little snowflakes.
A series of Labour Party employees then say that they had identified
antisemites and wanted them to be expelled and they were upset and
offended when the grownups decided to substitute a suspension or a
warning. Again, no details were given. But I wouldn't trust a bunch of
school-leavers, not even if they had rings in their noses as some had,
to make decisions about who should or should not be expelled from the
party. As indeed it isn't their job.
Then we moved on to the real meat of the programme. A hatchet job on
Jeremy Corbyn. That infamous mural. Even though he apologised for it, we
are invited to assume that his *real* feelings were that he admired the
antisemitism in it and that actually he's as antisemitic as Goebbels.
