| Subj: NYC "NIGHT REGULATIONS" Parking Ticket S |
XPost: nyc.jobs From: liberty@once.net BEWARE THE "NIGHT REGULATIONS" PARKING TICKET SCAM! The streets must be cleaned, so we must move our parked vehicles to allow this to be done. Once a week is sufficient, though where residents have not complained enough about the inconvenience, alternate side rules requiring two moves a week still exist. THREE times a week is obviously unnecessary, and equally unnecessary is that the parking ban hours for alleged streetcleaning purposes be in the early AM. This is really not done for cleaning the streets though, it is in fact a deceptive tactic to TAKE OUR MONEY THROUGH PARKING TICKET FINES! On Brooklyn's Coney Island Avenue between Aves. O and P, among many other locations, alternate side rules ban parking THREE times a week. The signs say "NIGHT REGULATION, midnight to 3AM, TUES. THURS. SAT." The signs say nothing about Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, so one tends to assume that say Saturday regulations will not get them a ticket on Friday night. Deceptively, the signs say NIGHT regulations, not EARLY MORNING regulations. But park there on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday night and return at 5 minutes past 12:00, technically the next day, and you'll be greeted by a $45 parking ticket! Yes, the cops swoop down as soon as the clock strikes midnight, exposing the true purpose of these "regulations." If really for streetcleaning, why would they pay sanitation workers higher night pay, when the job is cheaper to do during the day? Obviously it is not necessary to clean the streets three times a week, nor is there any reason to prohibit parking in the early AM hours. The sole purpose of this is to SCREW THE MOTORIST OUT OF $45! And like the subservient sheep so many Americans have become, not enough people have had the courage to fight this robbery to put an end to it. Will this ticket scam be stopped as a result of publicizing this? It could be if enough of us act to stop it. The politician perpetrators of this racket care nothing for public convenience, fairness, or justice, but for money and money alone. Never forget how Billionaire Bloomberg fought tooth and nail to keep Sunday parking meter rules in effect, but was finally overruled by the City Council. Without action by the public, such abuses go on and we continue to be robbed by a government paid by our taxes supposedly to serve us. "When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." - Thomas Jefferson --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
