 And, as I posted elsewhere in this thread, there is a crosswalk where 
 streets with sidewalks intersect whether the crosswalk is marked or not. 
   That is why when Mayor Giuliani eliminated the crosswalks at some 
 midtown intersections it was necessary to post signs.
