 I learned to drive in Brooklyn, too  - Grandpa Abie was a cabbie, so I 
 learned all his good and bad habits.  Then I  moved to Los Angeles and 
 quickly learned California driving where right-turn-on-red was second 
 nature.  I had to unlearn it 3 years later when I moved back to 
 Brooklyn.  Two years after that I returned to California -- RTOR is 
 still second nature. 
  
 Pity that NY drivers don't  "grow up" in a RTOR culture -- it would be 
 legalized by popular pressure if they did.
