 XP - A Disruptive Technology?
 S.D. Fraser, Ph.D.

 ABSTRACT
The term "Disruptive Technology" was coined by Clayton Christensen in his
book the Innovator's Dilemma (1997) to describe technologies that displace
existing products/processes and change the fundamental way we work,
communicate, travel, and play. This talk will examine XP in the context of
tech transfer strategies, team paradigms and disruptive technologies.

 BIO
Steve Fraser independently consults on software engineering and tech
transfer best-practices. Previously, Steve served in a variety of diverse
software technology program management roles at Nortel Networks including:
Process Architect, Senior Manager (Disruptive Technology), Process
Engineering Advisor, and Software Reuse Prime. Steve served as the
initiator, Chair, and Event Director of the Nortel Networks Design Forum, a
proprietary global technology transfer event featuring interactive video,
audio and web conferencing. In 1994 he served a year as a Visiting Scientist
at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) collaborating with the
Application of Software Models project on the development of team-based
domain analysis techniques. In 2003 he serves as the Panels Chair for both
XP2003 and OOPSLA'03. Steve is an avid operatunist and videographer and
received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in
 Montreal.
