Haiti is a good example of how long and tangled our involvement with Iraq
will be. What I believe we have failed to realise is how separate policing
and fighting are. Our troops won in both Iraq and Vietnam. We are very good
at that. Holding the territory we take is our problem. We need to elevate
the MP into a completely separate service of the armed forces, equal to
Army,
Navy, Air.
