Actually I've tried to avoid the news this week. Up until now, I'd heard that Shrub's approval ratings had declined, but no corresponding increase in Kerry's numbers. A few weeks ago, I think that Andy Kohut of the Pew Institute wrote an Op Ed piece in the Times saying that this pattern of no increase in the challenger's approval ratings is typical at this stage of the race.
