Job details mentioned below: Position: Senior Cost Estimator Location: Long Island City, NY 11101 Duration: 5+ months Client: Direct Client Interview: In-Person Job Summary: TSD needs additional help due to the volume of contract specifications requests received. Please note 10% of position requires traveling throughout boroughs. Skills Required: 1. Prior cost estimating experience 2. Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs. 3. Extensive technical knowledge, training and experience in Electrical, Mechanical and HVAC/BAS control systems. 4. Ability to interpret architectural drawings 5. Proficiency in MasterSpec and / or BSD SpecLink, MS Office, and Excel 6. Experience with Revit and AutoCAD a plus 7. Experience in Project Management a plus Assignment tasks: €€€ Write technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties, utilizing knowledge of material standards, construction processes or manufacturing procedures €€€ Develop specification requirements €€€ Assist and mentor staff on technical issues for both project and specification related issues €€€ Develop and maintain company master specification standards €€€ Prepare bidding and contracting requirements for projects based on client input and use of industry standard document such as AIA and EJCDC contract documents €€€ Make updates to contract and specification reference standards (electronic and paper). €€€ Reviews drawings and other project information to write and edit specifications for projects and coordinates compliance with project requirements, institutional guidelines, technical conditions, acceptable standards, and existing laws, rules, regulations and codes. €€€ Prepare and review the procurement and contracting requirements, including the Division 1 General Requirement sections €€€ Provide development and improvement of Master Specifications including specialized content for project type or regional conditions as well as sustainable content €€€ Responsible for the drafting the technical project scope of work for all HVAC, Electrical and Mechanical Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projects €€€ Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work. €€€ Prepare specifications for a variety of project types and sizes following CSI specification writing principals and formats €€€ Maintain current knowledge of products and industry reference standards, in addition to building systems, envelope components, exterior and interior finishes, and material requirements of all building types €€€ Maintain current knowledge of probable costs for a wide scope of products and services €€€ Provide estimating values and mitigate risk factors that could influence project outcomes €€€ May conduct internal specifications training --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
