 Position:Sybase Consultant 
 Location: Albany NY

 MINIMUM requirements: 
 1.       Minimum of 4 years experience with writing application software, 
 data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, 
 programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, 
 software conversions; environments include but are not limited to mainframe, 
 mid range, personal computers, laptop; available to assist and/or lead in 
 the design of program specifications and the implementation of software 
 solutions. 
  
 2.       Minimum 3 years experience, performed for a minimum of six (6) 
 consecutive months within the last four (4) years, maintaining & 
 troubleshooting large SYBASE ASE DBMS in enterprise-wide large (100+ GB 
 database) in an NT and Digital UNIX environment (Adaptive Server Enterprise 
 Version 11.9.2 or later). 
  
 3.       Minimum 3 years experience, performed for a minimum of six (6) 
 consecutive months within the last five (5) years, establishing, maintaining 
 & troubleshooting complex SYBASE Data Replication Systems (100 servers or 
 more, 100+ Replicating Databases, and or 100+ GB Data Base as Central 
 Repository) in an NT and Digital UNIX environment (Replication Server 
 Version 11.5 or later). 
  
  
  
 ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE Experience (listed in order of importance): 
  
 NOTE:  Tasks must have been performed in enterprise-wide Windows Application 
 Systems using SYBASE ASE (DBM, 11.9.2 or later) for large projects with 
 Multiple Replicating Databases using SYBASE Replication Server (RDM, version 
 11.5 or later) using LAN/WAN connectivity that meet one or more of the 
 following criteria:  100+ Servers, 100+ Replicating Databases, 200+ Tables, 
 and 100+ GB Data Base as Central Repository.  Each of the tasks listed below 
 must have been performed for a minimum of six consecutive months during the 
 last five year and for a minimum of 5% of the total time on the project. 
  
 1.       Using Transact SQL and SYBASE Database. 
  
 2.       Maintaining & troubleshooting of Cobol Reports using embedded SQL. 
  
 3.       Analysis of an application for a Women, Infants and Children (WIC) 
 statewide information system. 
  
 4.       Writing and maintaining Unix Shell scripts. 
  
 5.       Using DOS scripting. 
  
 6.       Working with end users providing hardware and/or software support. 
  
 7.       Preparing documentation and mentoring (data dictionaries, 
 operations instructions, training, etc.). 
  
 Problem-solving using available resources and making recommendations.
