 Actually, there is some good agriculture in the some of the areas - remember 
 Israel is a world leader in farming and reclaiming marginal land. Also, in 
 addition to the strategic defense of the nation, some Jews do feel that they 
 have a biblical right to the land, as at one time it was Jewish.  They 
 settle there out of religious duty just as much as for strategic defense. 
 And, for the settlements near the border, many people move there for the 
 cheap housing. 
  
 I agree Israel should pull out of 95% of these lands, but do have a right to 
 alter the borders (which were just cease fire lines)  for strategic defense. 
 However, the Palestinians have to make a real effort to stop terror.  I 
 agree you can't judge them on results - no one can stop all attacks, but you 
 can judge them on effort.  Effort means don't give the terrorist money, 
 don't praise them, don't support them in the official media, etc. 
  
 The terror has done a lot more damage to the Palestinians than the Jews. 
 The Palestinians lives really are shit, and I feel sorry for many of them, 
 but it's their own leaders fault.
