XPost: calgary.general, can.general, tor.general XPost: chi.general, wash.general From: defenderofenourmousmanhood@rogers.com Come on, you are arguing semantics, bahahahahaha.....same problems with the substance though. I would think anybody living in Israel is a Zionist. I mean it all comes from Mount Zion and the Jewish Temple that stood there. That has come to symbolize the Jewish State. Well there is a Jewish State....and all who are citizens are Zionists. Sharon is a Zionist, because he lives in and supports a Jewish State - Zion - hence a Zionist. Now get this, he is unilaterally returning a lot of land to the Palistinians. So he is giving up Jewish occupied lands. He becomes a two-faced Zionist, when he wants to hang on to some of the lands that are most stategic for defence. So in Veranda's eyes, he is a Zionist fighting for a Jewish Nation. But she forgets there is a Zion. What there is no - is Palestine. And here is a first step to a Palistine. See, Palistine was never a seperate Arab country, it was actually a noman's land for people that no Arab country wanted. Technically I think it was mostly Jordan lands. But if you think of it When????? That area of the world has been occupied by foreign forces since at least Roman times. Even Israel when it stood there last was under Roman occupation for a good long time before Rome destroyed it. It's been occupied right up to recent times, by the European Colonialists. Same Colonialists that Carved boundaries that are the boundaries of the Arab nations today, that were given independence not much earlier that Israel was given land, by the occupiers of that land. While Palestinians have a claim, it is not a long standing claim, and it is not a clear cut claim. And you know back in 1967 when the entire Arab Middle East launched war on Israel from all fronts, and were trounced in 6 days, losing land because of such a hostile act, where were the Arab brothers? Standing at their borders with guns not letting the Palistinians enter their countries for refuge and safety. The Palestinian situation was a strategic move by the Arab nations to use the Palestinians as hostages, with no place to go, caught in the middle of that war's conflict and fallout. The world view on Palestine was not supportive initially. Blame was put where is was due - on the Arab nations tha made the war, and left the Palestinians out in the cold. But just because Israel and the Arab world were both wrong, peopel started to notice it was the Palestinians that were suffering. And in all fairness they should have a nation in that region that is their nation. They never had a nation in the region, not like say Israel. But they deserve their own country. And they deserve to live in peace. Now they need land. Sharon is giveing them some. He may give them more as peace becomes a reality. They will not get all their lands back. That ain't happening. But they will get most of it back, and have a nation for the first time, because they are really the discards of the neighbouring Arab nations. I don't mean that in a derogatory sense, but I am sure the Arab world does. The truth, the reality is quite shocking. The Palestinians have more of a true friend in Israel than they do with their Arab neighbours. I mean Israel may not have treated them great - but they didn't throw them to the lions. But Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Lybia and others did. MAtter of fact, even after the war, Isael gave Palestinains jobs, but that had to stopp, because egged on by their sinister brothers, they started bombing and killing civillians. They could have had their peace long, long ago if it wasn't for the external aggitation. "Angie King" |
