| Subj: Another Attempted Foodtown RIPOFF |
XPost: nyc.announce, nyc.general From: liberty@once.net I caught a Foodtown store in the act again! I went to the checkout with among other items, cookies that were clearly labelled on the shelf as two packages for $3. That's $1.50 each, as even an idiot would know. What does the scanner charge me? $1.99! I had no argument from the store and I was credited for the difference. It's pretty certain from the frequency of these incidents, and the fact the error is usually in the store's favor, that this is deliberate. Not only that, but though they tout their alleged bargains, many items such as cereals, fruit, and vegetables can be bought elsewhere for half of Foodtown's prices. I suggest you buy EVERYTHING elsewhere until Foodtown gets its act together. --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
