  I think you're going to have to be more specific about what you're 
 seeking. It sounds like you're referring to Hong Fat, which is below Canal, 
 but on Mott, not Bowery. (Despite some diminished English ability in 
 Chinatown, merchants there are bilingual enough to know that calling a 
 restaurant Fat Guy might not be the best commercial move)(Well, actually it 
 IS pretty memorable). 
  
  Hong Fat's menu, as far as I can recall (haven't been there in, 
 like, 25 years) is indeed Cantonese. But there are lots of Cantonese places 
 in Chinatown and, again, as far as I know, Hong Fat is no big whoop. 
  
  But I live on the border of Chinatown, so if you have something in 
 mind you'd like advice on, just lay out some specifics and I'll try to 
 help.
