| Subj: FOODTOWN IS KNOWINGLY RIPPING OFF CUSTOM |
XPost: nyc.announce, nyc.general, nyc.politics From: freespeech@4eva.com The Foodtown store on McDonald Ave. & Albemarle Rd. in Brooklyn - and probably many others - DELIBERATELY posts signs and price tags showing a lower price than is actually charged when the scanner-register rings up the sale on some products. Complain to the checkout clerk, and it is likely he or she will claim that the scanner price is correct. Get ahold of the manager, and he or she also may claim this. PROVE you are right by taking the manager to the shelf the product is on, or showing the "sale" sign or flyer with the advertised price, and you'll get a grudgingly-given reduction of the price to what it should be. THE STORE IS LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO CHARGE ONLY THE ADVERTISED OR POSTED PRICE. THE STORE IS LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO POST ON THE SHELF OR TAG THE PRODUCT WITH A PRICE, AND THE CORRECT PRICE. Don't be afraid of causing a delay, and SPEAK OUT LOUD for all to hear when you complain of this attempt to ROB YOU. If shoplifting is illegal and unacceptable, it is also illegal and unacceptable for a store to rob its customers! If these thieving scumbag stores keep this up, shoplifting squads may be needed to even the score. Or maybe some fed-up store scam victims will get angry and do some damage - those big windows are fragile, and pretty expensive! --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
