 Simply call local DEP office, you can Google for "New York City, DEP" or 
 "New York City, Sanitation" can you? 
  
 No need to post such questions on Usenet, when you should call NYC DEP 
 instead. 
  
 P.S. 
 I had a more serious probem: 
 a load of used lead-toxic batteries, I called, a truck came a few weeks 
 later and picked it up and even paid me a few dollars. 
  
 It took a week b/c a truck trip also pollutes air, so they send it only if 
 there're OTHER items to pickup en route, besides my or yours.
