The presence of Yuppies has enhanced the goods and services
available in my Queens neighborhood. Without taking away anything
that existed before. Not everyone who lives in Queens or Brooklyn
is against diversity. I've never seen a restaurant "ruined" by
Yuppies. My favorite Thai place in Woodside attract some, but the
bulk of the clientele are, guess what, Thais. It is highly unlikely that
most Manhattanites will begin to flock to Queens restaurants in large
numbers. But the addtiion of some helps the owners do a good
business and stay in business.
