There are car alarms that notify the car's owner directly of trouble.
It uses the same technology as a pager.

Apples and oranges. Besides, how many hear these ambulances for hours
at a time?

How did it prevent a break in? Car alarms don't go off until after
the damage is done. Maybe your alarm went off because it's too0
sensitive.
