 Ambulances etc aren't a problem for me, as they don't stick around for 
 minutes or even hours, as I've experienced. 
  
 How, exactly, does an audible alarm truly protect a car? Where's the proof 
 that those sirens have prevented theft to any degree? I haven't seen it. 
  
 Fortunately, there are alternatives. Blink those lights; use LoJack or 
 equivalent. Just stop waking me up for no reason. 
  
 I'm with the OP on this one. They're more hassle than they're worth, and 
 I'll be happy to see them go.
