| Subj: Help with newsgroup charter |
From: robert.morris@durham.ac.uk I have requested the creation of a local newsgroup to be carried on my University's News Server - it only needs approval by our news admin, since I expect it will not be carried by any other news servers, but we must have a charter. I've done some googling and there seems to be no fixed format for newsgroup charters. I have written an attempt at a charter, quoted below. Could someone please give me guidance whether it is appropriate? The group is meant as a discussion forum for the 30-40 people who make up our university bridge club. Charter of dur.soc.bridge ========================= The dur.soc.bridge newsgroup is for discussion between members of Durham University Bridge Club, and for the discussion of Contract Bridge by anyone interested in the game. dur.soc.bridge is not moderated. It is open to all discussion related to Contract Bridge, the UK universities Bridge scene, and all business of Durham University Bridge Club. Questions on bidding and play are welcome but might be better directed to rec.games.bridge. Specific submission Rules ========================= This is a text group. Articles should be posted in plain text (not HTML). Articles must not be sent with files attached. Advertisments are allowed only if posted by members of Durham University Bridge Club or directly related to playing Bridge. Any advertisements must be marked as such in the subject line, and posted no more than once per month. Cross-posting is discouraged. Articles should only be cross-posted to relevant groups, and should usually be set with Follow-Up To a single group. Commercial postings and spam are not allowed. Postings featuring personal harrassment, racism or homophobia are not allowed. Posters of such messages may be subject to disciplinary proceedings within Durham University Bridge Club or the University. ================================== Is there anything important I've missed, or anything that should be put in? Many thanks. -- Rob Morris http://www.durham.ac.uk/bridge.club --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
