 This is definitely not the mechanism that I would have 
 recommended (it's generally more reliable to feed the articles in 
 via the NNTP interface than to try to plop them into the file 
 structure). 
  
 But since you seem to want to try it, yes, you definitely need to 
 use makehistory to update both the history file and the overview 
 database.
