 Thanks for the input. 
 What do you mean by `basic'.  That is what I want to get started on 
 but having trouble figuring out where to find info or discussion about 
 such details as posted. 
  
 I'm not sure how `basic study' will tell me which groups to research 
 in.  Seems that is what I'm asking.. where to do basic study. 
  
 The dmoz site is not much different than google.groups.  The problem 
 is figuring out what search strings will unearth this kind of 
 information and where to direct them. 
  
 That is why I asked for a list of possible groups.
