Sometime back Nick B. said that much of the backlog of FAQ approval
request e-mails had been addressed. I think much of it was spam.
My suggestion was that if there are tens-of-thousands of bogus mails
in the cue to just purge it and start over.
I am not an authority. I am in no position of being able to do
anything with respect to this issue. I am but a lowly FAQ maintainer.
That said...
My *opinion* is that if no one is responding to a FAQ maintainer's
last-known e-mail address and no FAQ is being posted at this time, or
has not posted in over a year, then its up for grabs.
My FAQ auto-posts using the automated FAQ server every 30 days and I
update it as necessary 1-2 time s a year.
As I see it, abandonment is a default invitation for someone else to
take over.
As such my suggestion wou d be to write up a FAQ, submit to the
auto-reviewing system and get it committed/archived.
If someone bitches after the fact, address that as necessary.
Nick runs a list server that replaces Kent Lanfield's former FAQ
Maintainer's list. I believe back-dating should uncover the
subscription address.
