I could use "LIST ACTIVE " to find those groups suffixed with
the ".moderated" string. However, those groups are already obvious by
their name that they are moderated. It's not those groups that a user
wouldn't know was moderated. The user couldn't visit that group without
knowing it was moderated simply because .moderated was in its name.
"LIST ACTIVE" can't find groups that do NOT have the .moderated suffix
but which ARE moderated. The wildmat parameter is defined in sec. 3.3
for RFC 2980. It is used for string matching but applies against the
group name. How does using "LIST ACTIVE" get me at some "m flag" to
find the moderated groups? Does the LIST command return the newsgroup
names along with flags (i.e., a line has the newsgroup name and also
flags for that newsgroup)?
Know of any tutorials on how to setup a moderated newsgroup? I don't
mean the RFD/CFV process to create the group but instead just how
moderation is setup. For those that want to establish a moderated
group, isn't there any guides on how they might setup the processes to
handle the notification received from the NNTP servers along with what
actions the moderator performs and where those actions are committed?
Or is every setup different and variable for each moderated group (so
how would the NNTP admins know how to do notification)?
