For example, I am in the inclusive camp. As far as I'm concerned,
any newsgroup that relies on NNTP or UUCP for transporting messages,
INN or similar server software to dispense the messages, and messages
that adhere to RFC1036 and related formatting schemes is a usenet
newsgroup. It doesn't have to be on The Internet, it doesn't have
to be public (i.e. it could simply be internal to a home full of
computers). Then usenet is simply a collection of servers that
dispenses these newsgroups.
