I would, but to join eots I'd have to agree with the teachings of eots
and I don't. I've been a course student for significantly more than a
quarter of a century because I believe what's in the course.
Literally.
The truth is, for the most part, most of the people who are here from
eots are fairly long-time course students who were here before they
joined the eots mailing list, and they're here to see old friends and
to discuss the course. I don't see anything wrong with that.
The course tells me these people are my brothers. I believe that.
It tells me that attack has no foundation. I believe that.
It tells me that if I change any aspect of a problem, I will remove
myself from the solution. I believe that.
It tells me that forgiveness will bring the miracle of healing. I
believe that.
As a matter of fact, as long as I have been around the course on the
Net and as long as I have known some of you, I have to admit to being
somewhat surprised and maybe a little sad that, of all the long-time
course students on here, the only ones that seem even remotely
interested in TRYING course principles out on this dilemma are Carrie
and the people you've identified (rightly or wrongly) as "eots."
I have to ask... why in the heck are you wasting your time on
something called "A Course in Miracles" when you don't even have the
faith that the principles outlined in the course just maybe have a
chance of being true -- just maybe have a chance of actually working?
Why not take up chess or multi-level marketing or form a cadre in
support of St. Jude (who, by the way, should never be under-rated)?
Deborah, I'm not disappointed in you personally, please don't think I
am. It's just that something about this whole issue makes me just
unbelievably sad.
