||
|| I think I see the headers that way but I still miss seeing multiple
|| newsgroups. What I meant to say is that eventhough the newsgroups
|| are there to see I don't see them. That is why I said something
|| about making them flash; so I would be more likely to know that
|| there are multiple newsgroups. So in other words I was (not
|| entirely) serious.
|
| No newsreaders I know of have this feature. I'm afraid you'll have to
| get used to noticing the newsgroups header.
|
|| I don't use the preview pane, though. I turned it off to reduce the
|| chance that spammers would benefit. I don't miss it. However a
|| better way to reduce spam is to set the option to always use plain
|| text for viewing email. Many spammers have a way to get notified
|| that we have previewed and/or opened their email. That makes our
|| email addesses worth more since they have verified it is good. I
|| seem to finaly see a reduction in spam I am getting, but it seemed
|| to have taken about two months after I turned off HTML viewing.

I must be one of the 27 people on the east coast who doesn't mind using
OE. I have the options set to display all messages in "text only" so
some of the aggravating HTML code won't display or activate in the
Preview Pane.
Tools - Options - Read - Read All in Plain Text.
Also, I have my options set to notify me when a "Read" receipt is
requested.
In fact, I read NG's and email this way. If something looks interesting
enough, then I'll open it in it's own window.
