They've got spam filters, but the spam still gets through, including
some that I was very surprised to see did get through. And the spam has
been heavy enough that even with their large storage per user, they've
recently started announcing that they were purging spam that was over a
month old, which means a lot of people are using their gmail addresses
as dump addresses and not going back to look for the mail.
Verizon's filtering seems to stop a lot, too, and I put one of my
accounts on auto dump. My business mail these days goes to two other
addresses that I access by web.
