 Looks like you could be right. I can understand why someone would not think 
 its a good idea but why try to destroy it for those who might like it. I am 
 getting tired of having to watch 30+ year old men go through puberty. 
 Perhaps the best way to try this would be to focus it more narrowly such as 
 rec.woodworking.handtools or some such. The group can still be moderated and 
 it might not be percieved as such  threat. There is no way an open group 
 like rec.woodworking can raise above the mundane. As a group I have found 
 woodworkers amateur or professional to be some of the most laid back, 
 nicest and most helpful people you could ever want to meet. What happened to 
 rec.woodworking?
