I know it's a little late, but I wanted to respond a bit.
Subtracting the No votes for .csharp from those of .cli
roughly and you come up with several news.groups regulars.
The .cli name was controverisial. Not world-class so,
but that probably explains most of the 23 vs 16 no's.
The groups failed due to lack of interest, but the additional
barrier on .cli due to disagreement with the name choice
was significant enough to mention and note for the record.
