 claire... y'all certainly arouse my interests with discussing the 
 structuring issues of a bond, fer imho, knowledge of the financial 
 analysis that led to structuring the bond and the specific structure of 
 the bond is critical fer a potential investor to be able to make an 
 informed decision, particularly with regard to risk and security of the 
 cash flow... and i would hope that y'all's posting would examine: 
 verifying cash flows, indenture provisions, callable bonds, putable 
 bonds, step-up notes, range notes, bond indentures, debt retirement, 
 speculative bonds, debt ratings, convertible bonds and maybe the 
 structure differences with revenue, general obligation, special tax and 
 refunding bond issues, plus municipal notes or project notes, though 
 perhaps some of this is outside of y'all's work... 
  
  
 claire... when i first saw irene's posts in the various groups, on the 
 one hand, i was hoping that such a group dedicated to just bonds 
 specifically, would go the distance to "educate", whether a lurker / or 
 poster is either a novice or one who has been investing in bonds and 
 that it wouldn't just attract the bond trader type, or those who merely 
 wish to hand their hard earned money over to another who manages a bond 
 fund, but rather would attract those who would invest in individual 
 bonds themselves, fer the discussion of investing in a particular bond 
 versus a fund is as different as night and day... 
  
  
 and if fer whatever reason, this group doesn't get started, i'd be 
 interested in, if possible to pick y'all's brain per bond structuring, 
 or just listen to what y'all have to say... though i primarily buy & 
 hold equities, i've invested in municipals and continue to hold several 
 corporate bonds... sooo, i look forward to seeing y'all's posts in 
 irene's new bond investment group!...
