Yes, I'm serious. Every time we've talked about splitting the group
before, people have thrown up their hands before even constructing an

Yes, good suggestion. Getting some folks to do so would be quite
challenging, as pointed out earlier in the thread, but achievable over
time. Heck, even E.W. gave up eventually, despite all those promises of
siccing the FBI on the group readership :-)
In the sci.space split we ended up calling the analogous subgroup
".policy" rather than ".politics", which seemed to be a useful sop to
some strong personalities. Wouldn't quite apply here, though.
