 Package: src:linux
 Severity: normal

 Dear Maintainer,

I discovered after upgraqde to trixie with thias kernel, that the webcam is
 no
 more usable.

It appears, when a webcam ist connected at boot, the module uvcvideo is
automatically loaded and the webcam gets activated (LED is on).

This should not happen until some application like cheese, gucview,
 webcamoid
 or other are started.

But it happens, when these are started, none of them are showing a picture.
Instead of it, they are telling, the resolutiion setting of the cam is too
 high.

I am not quite sure, but it looks like, /dev/video for the cam is somehow
bound to the monitor (which of course has a higher resolution than the
 webcam).

It is also NOT possible, to unload the module uvcvideo (rmmod is telling:
"module in use"), but I could not see, why.

Disconnecting the webcam let the module then unload, but in the notebook,
where it is built in, I must unload it using "rmmod uvcvideo --forece".
 After
this, starting cheese or any other camera application, are working fine with
 the cam.

This appears on several computers after upgrade to debian/trixie with new
 kernel.

First I thought, the reason could be some boot scripts, but I could prove,
 it
happens as soon as a webcam is connected to usb and after the system is
 fully
 booted up.

There is also no windowmanager involved, as this issue happens long before
 any
windowmanager is started and also withoput any windowmanager at all.

It would be nice, if you could have an eye on this and maybe find a
 solution.

Thank you very much for your help!

 Best regards

 Hans
