I didn't suggest this because my understanding is that a few parts of our infrastructure (particularly dak/ftp team things, I think?) send mail to the Maintainer specifically, and not to an address that gets forwarded to tracker.debian.org subscribers; and this is why it's considered to be an RC bug if mail to the Maintainer address bounces.
