From: juicy@coldmail.com The worst pice of crap I have ever bought HAS to be a WAIT 900 (made by Air King) humidifier. When I bought my home, there already existed an Air King horror on the furnace, obviously neglected, that had been overflowing rivers. I paid the extra for the STAINLESS STEEL model, and looked forward to not having to worry about corrosion. Boy, was I wrong. This company is in the business of selling humidifiers guaranteed to generate parts sales. And I'm not talking just maintenance items like pads and filters. My "stainless steel" humidifier soon seized, because the drum shaft is NOT stainless, but ordinary steel that quickly RUSTS! What scumbags! What shysters. Add to that a cover that fits very poorly, allowing all sorts of air leakage and that frquently flies open, a float valve the often sticks and causes overflow - last time, I had to buy THREE float valves to finally get one that actually works. Now, the motor spins, but the coupling won't engage the rusty drum shaft. I've had enough - I bought a room humidifier. I wish I had never heard of the gasholes at Air King. They couldn't engineer a reliable ice cube tray, in my opinion. Anyone know a RELIABLE furnace humidifier? --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05 * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2) |
