 The biggest liars in the province are on the board of directors of 
 MPAC, when they claim in 
 "Our Values": 
  
 "Rely on us to deliver....accurate information." 
 "We conduct ourselves and our business with empathy, integrity and 
 uncompromising honesty." 
  
 What a crock of lies! I own some acreage near Athens, Ontario - rock 
 and swampland, what is referred to as "recreational property." 
 Each year, when I get my assessment notice, according to MPAC, this is 
 the hottest property in Ontario, having gone up in value 200% from the 
 year before, forcing me to pay the outrageous (thanks to the Mike 
 Harris ASSHOLE) fee of fifty pollars (nonrefundable.) to file an 
 appeal. Then, a few weeks before the hearing is due, the dirty crooked 
 lying assessor scum phones, and tells me he's such a nice guy that he 
 wants to spare me the trouble of going to the hearing, and offers to 
 reduce the assessment to the correct value. Of course, the truth is, 
 the crooked son of a bitch knows he hasn't a leg to stand on, and will 
 lose the hearing before the Assessment Review Board. Of course, I'm 
 still out the fifty bucks, my time in gathering evidence to submit, 
 and my ANGER at this dirty trick, which is nothing but harassment and 
 extortion. 
 Just got my assessment notice - this year, it's gone up 300%! Don't 
 you wish you'd bought some Athens property - it's hotter than the 
 TGoronto real estate market! 
  I've already complained to the Provincial Ombudsman, who refused to 
 do anything "until I had exhausted every other avenue"! Does that 
 include going postal? I guess the Ombudssman is as crooked as MPAC. 
 Remember about a decade ago, when there was a scandal involving the 
 Ombudsman, when an employee leaked to the Toronto Star that the 
 Ombudsman was just sitting on complaints and doing nothing? Looks like 
 nothing's changed.
